About us

Welcome to KOLOTAN

We abide by the Tagorean philosophy of education where teaching is done primarily with the aid of music, dance, arts and crafts, drama, and recitation.

KOLOTAN, established on 2nd November, 2018, is a charitable trust aiming at multifaceted social developments. Kolotan aspires for educational development in rural areas, wants to spread environmental awareness, wants to ensure the retention of indigenous culture, aims at child development, works towards skill development so that employment can be created for the emancipation of the economically challenged families. We aspire to build an educational, sympathetic, and democratic society.
Rabindranath Tagore

‘ The object of education is to give man the unity of truth.’

KOLOTAN

Principal’s Desk

KOLOTAN was born with the noble idea to provide wholesome education to the children of the have-nots so that the next generation does not have to face the same hardships and perils of ignorance of their predecessors, and so that they have a fair chance at life.  Established in 2018 and registered on 2nd November 2019, we, at KOLOTAN, primarily work with the children of rural, agrarian families who would otherwise have had little to no access to education, let alone a quality, well-rounded, and wholesome one. Our goal is to ensure that our students grow up to be strong, independent, well-balanced individuals who go on to become upright members of the society, and work toward that collective goal.

We believe that the children from rural communities should not feel alienated at a platform for higher education, or at a corporate setting when they grow up to join the workforce, if they are brought up to be confident and independent individuals, irrespective of their economic status, from the beginning of their life.

"Education is one thing no one can take away from you."
-Seemanti Mukhopadhyay

Our Mission and Vision

Our goal is to try and create the next generation of adults who would help build a society where people will coexist in harmonious cooperation; a society where people will stand up for the welfare of the community; and live their lives in peaceful acknowledgement of being satisfied with who they are and what they do.

We strive to spread conscious awareness of the self, about the environment, about health and hygiene, help with skill development so as to explore new paths to livelihood, and so on, and pave the path to a holistic life.

Our Philosophy

We abide by the Tagorean philosophy of education where teaching is done primarily with the aid of music, dance, arts and crafts, drama, and recitation.
We strongly believe that these methods can ensure better retention and application of education. This approach also adds to the pupils’ vocation for the future.
